NMI & NYI Conventions: April 12th

The Nazarene Youth International (NYI) and Nazarene Missions International (NMI) Conventions will take place Saturday, April 12th, at Heritage Church of the Nazarene in Circleville. NMI Convention is 9:00 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. and NYI Convention is 12:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m.  Delegates are encouraged to attend both conventions.

NMI Convention is a great opportunity to see the Great Commission come alive as you hear stories of God’s faithfulness and see the big picture of the church’s far-reaching impact through missions. We’re delighted to have Joyce Tempel as our mission speaker. Joyce will share inspiring stories of serving in both Brazil and Kenya, and of pioneering church ministry in the Amazon rainforest. She now works at our Global Ministry Center equipping and encouraging those on their journey, specifically those who are called to serve. Come be encouraged and learn how you can enlarge your opportunities in missions and reach more people for Christ.

This year’s NYI Convention will be exploring the echoes of God’s grace from students, young adults, and youth leaders from across our district. We will be seeing videos and photos of God’s grace at work within our students this past year and be challenged to echo God’s grace to those around us.

Part of the beauty and tradition of the Church of the Nazarene is the ability to elect our leaders. We will be voting on NYI President, Vice President, two College Representatives, two High School Representatives, and two Middle School Representatives.

Growing up, I (Christina) loved going to NYI Convention. It was a time to meet new people, hear stories of God’s movement, celebrate victories, and to see a bigger picture of God’s Kingdom. It gave me insight and knowledge into the Church of the Nazarene and helped me grow strong roots with my tribe that have held strong over the past 20-25 years. I firmly believe that future leaders of the Church of the Nazarene are in our youth groups. NYI Convention is an opportunity for our students to take ownership in the larger church.

We hope you will plan to bring students and leaders to NMI and NYI Convention. Build relationships. Be inspired. Witness God’s grace. Grow strong roots. Celebrate God’s goodness. It’s vital to our church.
