Event Refund Policy & Camping Policy

Refund policy

The South Central Ohio NYI Council has set the following guidelines for refunds on all events that require a fee for participation. Unless further action is taken by the Council on any given event, fees paid for a NYI sponsored event are non-refundable and non-transferable, with the following exceptions:

Since events requiring overnight stays dictate separate sleeping arrangements for male and female students, transfer of registration fees between students of the same sex is permissible. Transfers between students of the opposite sex are not permissible.

A transfer of registration fees between persons of the same sex does not eliminate the obligation to pay a late fee. The transfer must be made before the date the late registration fee goes into effect.

Non-attendance post registration — including last-minute decisions not to attend — will be subject to 50% of the cost of the event. This includes cases where a student has only paid a deposit; they will be required to pay the remainder up to 50% of the full event cost.

Camping policy

Boys are not permitted in girls' rooms, and girls are not permitted in boys' rooms.

There must be an adult leader (21 years or older) present from each church.

The adult leader-to-student ratio must be at least 1 adult for every 5 students.

Students must keep adult leaders informed of their locations and activities at all times.

Students are to remain in groups of four or more at all times.

Prior to the retreat, pastors must inform the directors of any potential problem situations that may involve their students.

Pastors are responsible for preparing students for the retreat by explaining that the priority of the event is spiritual growth, and that events are open to Christians and non-Christians alike.

All students should be discreet in their display of affection, whether in public or in private.

Appearance should reflect modest dressing habits appropriate for all events.

Reasons for immediate dismissal

Breaking any "special rules" as listed in the Church of the Nazarene Manual, paragraphs 33 and 34

Use of any substance that defiles the body

Violation of the after-hours curfew as set by the event schedule
