Council Candidate Bios
President (2 year term)
I am most honored to have served as District NMI President for the past 10 years, following two years as NMI Vice-President, and more than 10 years as a local church president. Missions has always been close to my heart, and I am deeply passionate about sharing God’s love and hope with others—both locally and around the world. It means a great deal to me to encourage and help others become engaged in missions and discover the joy of serving. I am incredibly blessed to have been married to my husband, Jerry, for 40 years, and humbled to walk alongside him as we have pastored three churches over the past 30 years. We’re so thankful for our family—our daughter, Danielle, our son-in-love, RJ, and our two amazing grandsons, Roman and DJ.
Treasurer (2 year term)
Chris Powell has been serving as the treasurer for the South Central Ohio District NMI for 8 years. He has held church board positions, including as the NMI President at the Hebron Church of the Nazarene for over 11 years. Chris has been a member of 7 disaster relief trips to Texas, Louisiana, Tennessee, and Florida, as well as a member of a Work and Witness trips to Brazil, Ecuador, and Panama. He is involved in community outreach through Family Night meals at Lower Lights, and events in Hebron such as their annual 4th of July celebration and a car show each October at the Hebron church.
Chris and his wife Valerie have been married for 30 years and have faithfully served in every church that they have been members of. They have been members at Hebron since 2009. Chris has an MBA from Regent University in Virginia Beach, VA, and a Bachelor's degree from Kent State University.
Council Members (2 year term, Vote for 2)
I am retired from the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office. I am married to the love of my life, Tom, and I have 4 children, 15 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. I have held positions on the NMI District council, Columbus East Zone Coordinator, Work and Witness Coordinators for the SCOD District, Work and Witness Coordinators for the country of Honduras as well as holding positions at the local church level, such as board member, missionary president, finance committee, and work and witness coordinator. I am actively involved with Lower Lights Ministries and support many global missions around the world. I am also a member of the Nazarene Disaster Relief team, and am currently working part time with the Nationwide Organ Transport Recovery Alliance (NORA) and a Chaplain with the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office.
I serve at Wellston Church of the Nazarene with my husband Ryan who is the lead pastor. We have 3 children, Adelyn, Marcus, and Keith. I have been involved in many roles of the church while serving and one of those has been as NMI president at Dresden. Missions to me is the heartbeat of the great commission to go into all nations and make disciples. At the local level the church is involved in outreach like supporting our local schools and community needs. On the bigger level we support the global missions with our prayers and giving. It is a reminder we are a part of something bigger than ourselves.
Pastor Brittany Ison has had a heart for missions and cross-cultural ministry since childhood. She has been on mission trips to Romania, Brazil, and Ecuador. She served as a Nazarene in Volunteer Service in Ljubljana, Slovenia from 2006-2007. During her graduate school days, Brittany and her husband, Jonathon, served in a Chinese/English congregation that ministered to Chinese speaking students at Ashland University. Currently, she helps with local outreach ministries at Chillicothe First Church of the Nazarene. Pastor Brittany has a heart for outreach both at home and abroad.
Megan Coburn is a member of Logan Church of the Nazarene and serves as the local Missions President. She encourages participation in missions and supports the work God is doing locally and globally. Megan has participated in medical, construction, evangelism, and Jesus Film mission efforts, which have shaped her heart for missions. She is active member on church, school, and community boards and seeks to live out her faith through servant leadership and humility. Megan and her husband, John, have three children: Alec, Achilles, and Olivia.

Sharli has been a member of Cornerstone Church of the Nazarene for 18 years. She has served actively in multiple leadership and outreach roles, including four years on Cornerstone's Nazarene Missions International (NMI) Council. She is a core team member of the HOUSE and assists with Appalachian Reach Out (ARO), contributing to initiatives that support and strengthen the Appalachian community. Sharli has been blessed enough to be a member of teams that served on multiple stateside and international mission trips, where she worked collaboratively to meet community needs and foster cross-cultural understanding. These experiences have reinforced her dedication to the Lord, service, accountability, and discipleship. Professionally, she has served as a Registered Nurse for 27 years, bringing extensive experience in healthcare, advocacy, and community wellness. She is married to her husband, Guy, for 31 years and is the mother of four and grandmother of two. Together, they enjoy mentoring young couples. Sharli particularly enjoys mentoring young women in supporting personal growth, accountability, and discipleship.

Me siento muy honrada de haber servido como presidenta de la MNI del distrito durante los últimos 10 años, tras dos años como vicepresidenta de la MNI y más de 10 años como presidenta de la iglesia local. Las misiones siempre han estado muy presentes en mi corazón, y me apasiona compartir el amor y la esperanza de Dios con los demás, tanto a nivel local como en todo el mundo. Para mí es muy importante animar y ayudar a otros a participar en las misiones y descubrir la alegría de servir. Me siento increíblemente bendecida por llevar 40 años casada con mi esposo, Jerry, y me siento honrada de haber caminado a su lado mientras hemos pastoreado tres iglesias durante los últimos 30 años. Estamos muy agradecidos por nuestra familia: nuestra hija, Danielle, nuestro yerno, RJ, y nuestros dos maravillosos nietos, Roman y DJ.

Chris Powell ha sido tesorero de la NMI del Distrito Sur Central de Ohio durante 8 años. La pastora Brittany Ison ha tenido un gran interés por las misiones y el ministerio intercultural desde su infancia. Ha participado en viajes misioneros a Rumanía, Brasil y Ecuador. Entre 2006 y 2007, prestó servicio como voluntaria nazarena en Liubliana, Eslovenia. Durante sus estudios de posgrado, Brittany y su esposo, Jonathon, sirvieron en una congregación chino-inglesa que atendía a estudiantes de habla china en la Universidad de Ashland. Actualmente, colabora con los ministerios de divulgación locales en la Primera Iglesia del Nazareno de Chillicothe. Megan Coburn es miembro de la Iglesia del Nazareno de Logan y ejerce como presidenta local de Misiones. Ella anima a participar en misiones y apoya la obra que Dios está realizando a nivel local y global. Megan ha participado en misiones médicas, de construcción, evangelización y de la película Jesús, lo que ha moldeado su corazón para las misiones. Es miembro activo de juntas directivas de iglesias, escuelas y comunidades, y busca vivir su fe a través del liderazgo servicial y la humildad. Megan y su esposo, John, tienen tres hijos: Alec, Achilles y Olivia.

Sharli ha sido miembro de la Iglesia del Nazareno Cornerstone durante 18 años. Profesionalmente, ha trabajado como enfermera titulada durante 27 años, lo que le ha proporcionado una amplia experiencia en atención sanitaria, defensa y bienestar comunitario. Lleva 31 años casada con su marido, Guy, y es madre de cuatro hijos y abuela de dos nietos. Juntos disfrutan asesorando a parejas jóvenes. A Sharli le gusta especialmente asesorar a mujeres jóvenes para apoyar su crecimiento personal, su responsabilidad y su discipulado.
