Do You Have a Sophia Near You?
Sophia began attending the Westerville Nazarene Church about three years ago, and she was an answer to our Multiply by Ten prayer initiative. Sophia, who is from Bolivia, began attending our ESOL Sunday School class where we teach English to speakers of other languages. The class uses a Biblically based and personally customized curriculum. After class, Sophia began attending our bilingual worship service. It did not take very long before Sophia began bringing other people to church with her.
It started with her husband Cesar and sons Miguel and Adrian. Next came Nubia, Johana, Juana, Geovanine and Malory. But Sophia didn’t stop there! She also invited Karen, Blanca, Victoria, Nelvi, Albania, Sofia, Iyonel, Dora, Celestina and Juliana! Sophia brought all these people to church before she had even accepted Christ!
In May 2024, Sophia gave her life to Jesus and has been serving Him since that time. Sophia carried one of the flags in our Parade of the Nations at the District Ordination service a couple of weeks ago.

The Multi-Cultural District Team for South Central Ohio Church of the Nazarene consists of Pastor Edward Solano, Pastor Jeremy Stanley, and Pastor Mark Ledford. The team exists to help churches on our district who want to minister to someone like Sophia.
We have people from many different nations represented on the South Central Ohio District. If you were able to attend the Ordination Service on April 27, you were able to see all the flags of the nations represented during our Parade of the Nations.
